There are so many things I remember growing up with, loving and being obsessed over. I saw this list of things only an 80s baby would get and immediately realized that I’m getting up there! Let’s be clear, I ain’t claiming old lady status yet, I’m just saying I ain’t a baby! Here are my favorites from the list:
I was a complete nut over some Cabbage Patch Kids back in the day. I had three of them. I still remember their names. Irene, Nadia, Alfonso. I treated those dolls like they were my kids!
I never got an easy bake oven. I’m only slightly bitter… still.
These lip balms were addictive. Looking back, I wonder what the heck was in those things?
As much as these things made my feet sweat. I rocked them – HARD!
I kinda wanted Lisa Bonet to be my big sister. She seemed cool and was seriously stylish.
Am I the only one who waited for the mail to come hoping to have a letter from my pen pal? My pen pal was in Africa. I don’t remember what country. I do remember that her name was Nadia. I always wonder how she is now. I was in elementary school when we sent letters back and forth. It was great to hear about her life. I SO wish I had kept in touch with her somehow.
What things do you remember from the 80s that you’d add to this list? How many of you were born in the 80s?

The cabbage patch kids and captain planet….I also had a black and white tv for a while….when we first got color I remember staring at it for a while. Yes I was born in the 80’s but my mom was too cheap to buy a color tv she waited until all of the black and whites one went out of commission

Wow… You have taken me back to the good ol days! The only thing I don’t remember is the lip balm. I had a favorite pair of jellies that once melted to the floorboard of an old truck. Lol I was upset for weeks!
Yes I remember those cabbage patch dolls. I had one too! I have a story to tell but I will save it for another day. I remembe those jellies too!! My daughter likes them now. And that’s cool about your pen pal. You should try to find her.
Had them ALL. In fact, my daughter just pulled one of my old Lip Smackers from storage. I don’t know how she found it. what a memory.

Oh, the 80s. I was obsessed with the one Cabbage Patch Kid I had. And I mean obsessed. I think I had a pair or two of jelly beans that came after a lot of pleadings to my parents. lol.
Oh my jellie shoes!!!! Or is it jelly shoes? I so wore those! They gave the worst blisters!
