Last month, I had been chosen by Beano to show off my cooking skills.. ahem. That’s right, I had to get down in the kitchen! The challenge was to come up with a recipe, using natural ingredients that are known to cause gas. That was no small task. When you cook something that you know could lead to a little funk, you are one brave woman!!!
I created my masterpiece and entered it into Beano’s “Be Natural Virtual Cook off!” What did I make you ask? Well let me refresh your memory. I created a baked rigatoni recipe that was pretty yummy.
So good, my husband had a couple of helpings. That could have been dangerous, if the Beano didn’t work! Thank goodness, it did! 🙂 We each took the Beano Meltaways before dinner. There was no gas for the adults in this house. I can’t speak for the kids. They’re too young to take Beano, so let’s just say it’s a good thing they have their own room!
My recipe didn’t make it to the finals but some really yummy ones did!
The finalists all won some pretty cool natural cookware. The winner of the contest gets a pretty sweet deal! The blogger with the winning recipe will have the chance to go a trip to New York to attend classes at the Natural Gourmet Institute. After all the votes, a winner has been announced. It’s Melanie in the Middle! Congrats to her! Check out her recipe. You can also head on over to Beano’s Facebook page to see the other recipes. There could be come good ideas in there for new recipes to try…with Beano, of course! Have you tried any new recipes lately? Please share! I need to add some new ones in the rotation!

I’ve seen this stuff before, but have never tried it. I absolutely LOVE red beans and rice! Growing up, it was definitely a staple, but Lord knows when you have a whole house full of folks eating beans… there will be trouble later. LOL! These days we limit the red beans to once every few months. We may have to try this stuff out.
