What had happened was…
I know I have been gone far too long. It wasn’t on purpose, that’s for sure. When I tell you this transition has rocked my world and turned it upside down, I’m not lying. Creating my new normal has taken more time that I expected. My friends keep reminding me that it’s only been two months but I am pretty hard on myself and really want everything in sync like yesterday. To that end, I will be a bit easier on myself in this new year. I call it “giving myself grace”. Speaking of the new year. Happy New Year!!!
2013 will definitely go down as the year of transitions for me. Aside from contemplating baby number three, I shared my dad’s “who knew” secret, spilled the beans about my first book, lost my job, and started a new life.
All of that alone is enough to make me take a giant WOO-SAH! Last year had a lot going on. I like to think that it all prepared me for what this year has to offer. I’m ready for 2014 to bring it! I have lots of ideas and projects on my plate. Of course, I have some ideas for this space as well as an e-book I’ve been writing. I have really dove into this project as it’s about my top two passions : dreams and motherhood. I’ll keep you posted on that whole thing.
To bring in 2014 we headed down to La Jolla, just outside of San Diego. We had a great time with friends. It was the first time I’d done any rock climbing while wearing my baby girl.
I was a little nervous. She was having fun. Figures. We took the kids to an aquarium and science center and just really enjoyed the city and each other. We spent New Year’s Eve hanging out at the beach and staring at the sea lions that were just lounging.
I love this view. I could have stood in this spot for hours…
We had plans to bring in the new year like grown ups. Um, I fell asleep and woke up at midnight to all the shouting and celebrating. Yes, I was all kinds of turnt up.
How have you been. Anything special to bring in the New Year? Any big plans for 2014?
I love the La Jolla area as well. It’s been 25 years since I was there last though. I didn’t realize you’d lost your job. I’m really sorry about that, but I know wonderful things are ahead for you!

Great to see that you’re back! You had one busy year last year, and this year is only going to get better for everyone. I have some changes I’ve been planning, but I’m going to go about them slowly.

Happy New Year, Cam! My word for the year is “courage.” I look forward to this year, and like you, a new change! xo.
No big plans but to make my business grow and focus on being my own boss and learn new skills. Other than that I am just going to go with the flow. Loving the pictures

Like Kita, I’m going to go with the flow this year. Put my all into the projects I have working and add on a few more. Major goal is to get the house painted and new carpet. I’ll be documenting those journeys on the blog. Can’t wait to see what 2014 has in store for you!

La Jolla! Ah, the sun. The ocean. You could not imagine the snow/ice/cold front we’ve been in for weeks. I can’t remember what warm sunshine feels like. Oh well – I’ll be in Disney soon enough. (three weeks but who’s counting)
Can’t wait to hear about the e-book!

I can totally relate to 2013 being a year of transition! My 2013 was similar with lots of personal/life changes…whew! My honey and I spent NYE in the house watching the Twilight zone marathon. Christmas traveling took all of our energy, lol! I’m praying for a more organized and progressive 2014.

Love these photos and welcome back!
Love the pics, the babies are just too cute! Nothing too crazy for 2014, I will take the opportunities as they come! I also did not make it to midnight on NYE (on purpose :))

where is that beach where the sea lions are just hanging out so close to you? i want to go there!
It’s a beach in La Jolla. It’s amazing. They are just hanging out, getting in and out of the water. I saw people hanging out on the rocks with sea lions siting on the rocks right under them.

Beautiful views indeed! I wouldn’t mind being able to see the sea lions up close like that. It’s nice observing some animals in their natural habitat. Glad you all were able to bring in the New Year with a little family time.

Have you ever thought about including a little bit more than just your articles?
I mean, what you say is fundamental and all. But think about if you added
some great images or video clips to give your posts more,
“pop”! Your content is excellent but with images
and clips, this website could undeniably be one of the best
in its field. Wonderful blog!
