Socks with ruffles. Check. Pretty dress. Check. Matching purse and hat. Check. Patent leather shoes. Double check.
This is what Easter looked like for me. It was all about the Easter speech in church, the Easter basket treats and the clothes. That was the day I got to break out of my usual ponytails and French braids and wear my hair down. Easter was a big deal in our family!
In the spirit of carrying on that tradition for my kids I went shopping for some spring clothes and a Easter get up for the little miss. I was invited to Children’s Place for media day to check out the new styles and do some shopping. I fell in love with so many of the little dresses.
I stocked up on lots of cute stuff. They are using Parisian themes in some stuff so I had to indulge for little mama.
I have a special place in my heart for all things Parisian. I got some sweet school clothes for get brother too. Staying on trend with lots of bright colors.
My favorite piece has to be this pink dress right here.
When I saw it I fell in love. It was hard to choose my favorite between the pink or the lavender. I ended up going with the pink. I immediately thought that it might be her Easter dress. My mom sent my little man a suit. These are going to be some dapper kids on Sunday!
Did you grow up with any Easter traditions?

I don’t dress mine up for Easter but I’ve been thinking about it this year…we’ll see. I never looked forward to Easter that meant the grease and hot comb in my house and a itchy slip! I love Children’s place and I frequently shop there. I need to check out their spring collection these folks need new clothes.
I’ve always dressed up my kids for Easter I remember when I was growing up Easter meant a new outfit that was all I cared about! lol I think I have an old photo of my oldest daughter in an outfit like your yellow one but hers was pink! haha Love the pink dress! I like Children’s Place but don’t shop there often.

My mom use to dress me up for Easter and I got an Easter basket up until I was 18 yrs old. I sure did miss those baskets. I don’t think we will be dressing up if I do dress the kids it will be to take pictures I have something for son but nothing for the baby.

I dress Jas up for Easter. I always dressed up when I was little. This year Jas will be wearing something she owns already. She has a bunch of dresses she never wears.

I love old-school Easter pics, too. And I think Children’s Place has some of the cutest clothes ever. We got most of my daughter’s school clothes there.
Super cute. Happy WW!

What a cutie, mothers are biased of course.and I wondered where my picture had gone. Some little sneak never returned them after the wedding collage.
What a cutie, Of course mothers are allowed to be biased, I also wondered what happened to my picture. It was never returned from the wedding collage. Pretty sneaky kid.
old school easters are the BEST! My easter sunday suit this year is floral so yes, I am sticking with it! Love children’s place!

My dad was a pastor when I was little so we always got new Easter pajamas, slept in sponge curlers and got to church practically before dawn. While my dad got ready for the service we would put on our huge fluffy Easter dresses and then enjoy a continental breakfast after the service. I LOVED that continental breakfast basically meant I got to eat donuts.
Aw, thanks for reminded me of that. Such good memories.

Too cute! I went to a Baptist church growing up but have been at a non-denomenational church for the better part of my adult life. This morning, we were at breakfast and saw this woman dressed up for Easter and it made me think back on all those fancy Easter dresses and hats. Good times!

The pink dress makes me happy. My girls were away on spring break this Easter so I didn’t have the “gotta find dresses” excitement this year. And yes, you couldn’t tell me nothin’ as a child on Easter: matching shoes and purse and maybe hat, all tied into the dress, the ruffly socks, the light spring coat (trench-like that seem so ridiculously hard to find for kids now). One year I had a parasol WHAT!
Oh I want to see pictures!! We would usually get new Easter dresses but not every year so that wasn’t a huge part of it; but we would always have to hunt for our baskets with clues. One clue would lead to the next until finally you found your basket and the older you got the harder and more riddle like the clues became.
We do the same thing with my kids now.

I love the Easter traditions. My children was dressed up for church, wearing a pretty dress with patent leather shoes, and my baby boy was wearing an argyle sweater best with a mint button down ones. And yup, she was allowed to wear her hair down. Good times.

Indeed, I think when it’s about these kind of family traditions and holidays, old-school things work the best. The usual colors, outfits, traditions, rituals and people – that’s all I want from the Easter Bunny:)

We are definitely into the Easter tradition. However, this year Easter didn’t go so well. But there’s always next year and I’m looking forward to shopping for the kids, doing the Easter speeches, church and dinner like always.
