I was just sitting at a volunteer appreciation breakfast at my son’s school and one of the moms was saying “didn’t we just drop them off for the first day of school?” Now, they’re home and we’re one week in to summer vacation! Yeah. It went fast. There’s something about a new season that brings inspiration.
Aside from summer plans being on my brain, I’m also thinking about the plans I made for this year. I started out with a pretty stacked list of things I wanted to get done. I’m doing alright. Could be better though. I’m finding my inspiration and prepping to slay some goals! I have my work cut out for me this month, for sure.
If you’re anything like me, you know life happens. Our best plans can get kicked to the curb because “something came up”. One thing that had been put off for me is a hip hop dance class I’ve wanted to take. I’d been looking for a place to check out a class. There were so many places suggested for me, but I just hadn’t gotten around to it. Intimidated? Probably. Busy? Definitely. This is L.A. I didn’t think I could find a regular class. By regular I mean, not filled with a bunch of pro dancers. That’s where the intimidation came in. Understandable, no?
We’ll I finally did it. I found a class at the same studio where my daughter takes her ballet classes. My expectations weren’t far off. The teacher is a choreographer who has toured with major acts. Like I said, this is L.A. Ha! Instead of intimidation, found motivation and inspiration. I shared my excitement right after the class in this Facebook video. It was almost 9 at night as I set in my car and felt the need to share my experience. Check it out!
I want the last part of this year to go out with a bang. If you made some goals for the year that you haven’t quite met, let’s get on track together! After talking to a lot of you, I learned that a big issue is procrastinating. We have the best of intentions and the biggest of goals but we don’t always quite make it. Or we put it off because the situation isn’t right, the timing isn’t right, the ‘fill in the blank” isn’t right. Any of this sound familiar?
I created a new FREE ecourse to nip that “I’ll do it later habit” in the bud. It’s a quick, take action course. Just 5 days to get you moving on whatever is chilling on your to do list. Wanna join us? Just click here to get started.
It’s easy to come up with what we want to do. The hard part is the follow through. I’ve been there more times than I want to count. While “just do it” seems so easy to say, it’s not always so easy to do. I’ve been slowly flipping the switch on my procrastination habit one choice at a time. It’s amazing what we can get done when we just decide to move forward.
Tell me one thing you’d love to knock of your “do it later” list.
Enjoyed this and congrats for getting that class done!
