What is it about a camera that just makes me happy? I think it’s the possibilities of what I can do with it. In my mind the list is practically endless. I’d shoot all kinds of beautiful nature shots, I’d take lots of candids. I’d make my son my supermodel, my muse and we’d have so many photos that he wouldn’t forget a second of his childhood. Oh, and then there’s the video options!! So much excitement I can barely contain myself.
I also can’t bring myself to take my camera off of auto. Shameful, I know. My husband bought me a beautiful D-SLR camera for my birthday and for all I do with it, it may as well be a point and shoot. I don’t know what the heck I’m afraid of. I’ve already paid for a class or two to get me more familiar with my camera (thanks Groupon). I just have to actually schedule and take the classes for them to be of any use to me, right? Yeah, I know. I’m working on it.
My dream is to one day take pictures like these:
I am a sucker for a beautiful nature shot and then there’s these:
Just about any photo in black and white makes me happy. Looking at these pictures totally inspires me. I guess I just needed a boost of inspiration today. Maybe you did too? What inspires you?

I am right there with you…I need to learn my camera! The classes here are pretty expensive and lots and lots of weeks. I wouldn’t mind going to a few but like 12 weeks seems a little long for me to commit to. They did have a shorter lighting one I thought would be interesting.

Like you, I haven’t moved off the auto either. It’s so intimidating!

I love taking pictures as well, I think you can tell from my blog and how much picture is on there. I am still an amateur and not a professional by any chance but I am hoping that I am able to retouch pictures professionally some day.

Hi Cam!
These photos are awesome! You have the potential to be a professional photographer. You captured the subjects beautifully. And I love the color of the photos. Credit of course to your camera..

I fancy colorful images too, specially pictures of nature. I believe there’s still beauty in black and white pictures.
