Apparently, becoming parents begins to take its toll on you after a while. I’m talking in the form of missed sleep, hair appointments and no longer shopping for yourself because of your new-found obsession with baby gear. Then there’s the ugly break-up between you and the gym. What can parent peeps do to get it together? My husband in all his brilliance suggested a makeover. I love him! I’m pretty sure he just got tired of my moaning and groaning. I don’t care, I’ll take it! I’m not going all out and blowing the budget on craziness. It’s more about putting thing back in the budget that have taken up permanent residence on the back burner. I’ve decided to see this as an opportunity to tidy up a bit. A new piece here and there. A pedicure for goodness sake! Maybe even a facial. Wouldn’t that be something!? Not sure I’d recognize myself. HA! So far it’s been great! I think it’s just what I needed for a reminder of “me”. It’s so easy to look at myself as everything else. Mom. check. Wife. check. Daughter. check. Employee. check. Woman….finally, check! As for the break-up with the gym, we’ve decided to talk things over. We’ll see how that goes.
