You know everyone talks about change in the new year. Whether it’s to eat better, work out, chase a dream or land a job – change is at the top of the resolution list. My husband has accepted a new position that could mean big changes for our family. We’re excited as it’s a great opportunity for him. The new gig may require that we move this year. We’d still be in Southern California but much further out than we are now. So you know what that means? I’ll need to be looking into neighborhoods and schools and doctors and activities for me and baby girl, etc. I need to start looking into this stuff like yesterday! No worries, right?
The new job also means the hubs will be traveling A LOT more now. Like a few days after he starts, they’re sending him away for a week. Yeah, I’m going to be one tired mama y’all. I’m sure he’s in for lots of long hours as he gets to know the company and sets his goals and just digs into this new opportunity. I’m behind him and so proud of him. He’s really doing his thing!
What I have learned about being a SAHM is how important it is to have something just for me. I still need to do my thing. Whether it’s this blog or something else. I need something that just my space to think, grow and be someone besides mommy and wife. So, to that end, I’ve been working on another website where all of my ideas will come together to form a business. It’s already been in the works, it’s just being streamlined and defined at this point. I’m giving myself a break and taking my time since I have less time to get things done these days. I have two cute little minions that continue to make good use of my time. 🙂
This year is already shaping up to be one filled with lots of changes for my family and I. Change is good though. Even when it’s stressful, uncomfortable and unexpected, it’s good. It’s caused me to be challenged and grow myself more than I knew I was ready for. That’s the story I’ve chosen to tell myself!
Are there big changes going on with you?
That’s great news! Congrats to your husband! Doesn’t God have great timing?!
There are no big changes happening with us, but I’m being intentional about a lot of little things to create the big changes I want.

I feel like there are such big changes, that it’s almost like you can see it. My friend said to me today, “This is YOUR year.” Well, really it’s everyone’s year who wants it! Free for the taking. It’s just that I’m really motivated towards big projects.

I call myself SAM(writer) because looking after my daughter is not my job but writing is and though I don’t get paid to write I write to get something out of it one day.
