They say today is the un-official end of summer. They say that after today you shouldn’t wear white. They say today you should eat lots of BBQ and take one last dip in the pool. I say “pfft, whatever”. Summer is in full swing around these parts and I’m hopeful it’s going to stick around for awhile.
The last few weeks have been the hottest of the season. It’s been hot from the minute I wake up. I mean, walking my dog at 8 am, can’t breathe kind of hot. So, yeah, I don’t think summer is ready to make it’s grand exit. Fingers crossed. That being said, I had a moment this weekend where I was ready for the next season. I was doing a pre-school app on my phone with my son. The app was all about seasons and what’ appropriate in each season. In one of the scenarios there were pumpkins. I started to think about the pumpkin patch. I remembered how much fun it is to go to the pumpkin patch and how much my daughter will enjoy it this year. That got me thinking about hot apple cider and fall festivals. I gotta admit, as much as I love the summer and the heat, I am looking forward to fall.
I remember when I lived in the Midwest, I was all about the fall clothes. I looked forward to wearing boots and being warm and cozy. Now, I look forward to the fall clothes but also I look forward to taking walks sipping a tea latte from Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf. I’m also looking forward to finding more stuff for my kids to explore and enjoy. Alright Fall, take your time getting here but, I’m kind of ready for you. In the meantime, we’ll be soaking up summer over here. We’re thinking a fish fry or grilling in the backyard will be a good way to go. What are you doing on this “last” day of summer.
Chilling my car is not cranking and spending some time deep cleaning my house. Time went by fast

Time went by way too fast!!
Yup, it ain’t over ’til it’s over. And we still have at least three weeks, even up here in bitter old New England. I LOVE fall. The only thing I don’t like about fall is that it blends into winter pretty fast, in my opinion, so that makes winter seem endless. And I don’t do winter very well. Oh well – time to focus on the late summer/early fall delights.

You’re so right. Fall bleeds right into winter. No fun.
I love the summer. But here in Georgia this year, we really didn’t have that much of a summer this year. Sigh. But I’m looking forward to fall. And boots and sweaters and pumpkin patches. 🙂
I heard it rained most of the summer there. Boo! 🙁
I refuse to concede that summer is over! Fall can wait it’s turn.

We didn’t have the greatest summer weather here in cali so I’m kind of mad it’s getting SO hot here now. And it’s not just hot, it’s humid. It feels like a completely different state we’re living in. I’m not really digging it.
Fall can hold off though. I’m not ready for Jas to be 4. It’s way too soon!

after labor day is when san francisco starts its summer!
I’m so ready for Fall. This Summer has worn me out, LOL! The triple digit temps have got to go. I’m ready for boots and long sleeves. Fall has always been my favorite season and I hate that I get cheated out of a true Fall here in Texas.
