Let’s be clear. I am in no way ready for summer to ride off into the distance. I am not ready to say goodbye to the shorts and dresses that I haven’t had a chance to wear yet. I’m not ready to bid farewell to the longer daylight hours and warm nights. Nope. Not ready at all. Being that it’s the middle of August, I better get ready. Fall is a sneaky chick and she’ll be here before I know it. I didn’t send for her, so she can take her sweet time coming. In the meantime, I have been keeping an eye out for some things I’d like to work into my closet with the change of seasons. Yes, I’m using fashion to help me get into fall.
Peplum – I used to rock this look back in middle/high school. I’m not sure why things I used to wear are making a comeback. I’m not old enough for that to be happening. I guess the fashion world didn’t get that memo.
Leather – I have a leather skirt that I’ve never worn. I’m not really sure why I bought it to begin with. But, since I have it, I need to start working it. I also have some suede pants in navy. I used to love them! We’ll see if it gets cold enough here for me to pull either of these out of my closet.
Winter White – I don’t really get into the whole no white after Labor Day rule. When it’s still 80 degrees after Labor Day, I think I can do whatever I want. Hmph! 🙂 I only rock white during the work day though. Once I come home, all white clothing must come off. With two kids at home, my clothes will have stains on them in 2 seconds flat!
Hats – The other thing I’m really looking forward to rocking is my fedora. I have a black one and I forgot how much I loved wearing it. It will have to make an appearance this fall. It’s always a great way to make a bad hair day look chic too.
What things are you looking forward to working this fall? Are you ready for fall or still hanging on to summer for dear life?

I love peplums although I don’t know that I have any in my current wardrobe. I thought I did but now that I think about it, those might be gone. I feel like such a doobie when I wear hats, but my daughter can totally rock them. I wanna smack her for her self-confidence and ability to do that!

Hanging on for dear life here! I would wear sundresses year round. There are some great ones I haven’t worn yet. What am I saving for? I won’t always be in my early 30’s! As for fall, ick, I like fall TV and pumpkin stuff. I would like more leggings and long dresses/shirts. I can’t stand jeans anymore!

Uh oh, I’m in the minority and can’t wait for fall! Of course, living in Texas heat will do that to a girl. I can’t wait to get out of my daily tank top and shorts uniform and into some real outfits again. And hats! Oh yes, definitely hats.
