vf happy mamaI am a girls’ girl! I’m always in support of other women and being a cheerleader. It’s just me. I like to see us all win.

august 14 003So, when I was contacted by Vanity Fair to support their #LiftTour I was all in. It’s all a part of Vanity Fair’s new initiative “Women Who Do”. For the campaign, Vanity Fair has partnered with Dress for Success to donate bras to women who are starting over. Dress for Success and I have a long history from my days at the Style Network. We did lots of work with them over the years. For that reason, this campaign was really close to my heart because I’ve see first hand how Dress for Success helps women succeed. They donate clothes to women and offer them training to help them brush up on things like their interview skills. It’s a whole mindset of you may be down but you can get back up! I love that kind of support!

So, I loaded up the kids and headed out to the tour bus! It was a really great experience.

vf busWe also noshed on lovely treats like cupcakes and these yummy shrimp!

vf yummyWe stepped inside this decked out bust and immediately felt like I was being treated. It was obvious that I was a part of something special. It was beautiful inside.

vf selfieThe kids made themselves at home in the waiting area. There were even books and a magnet board to keep them occupied!

vf kidsWhile they played, I was fitted for a bra. You know, most of us are wearing the wrong size. After having nursed two babies, my girls are a little different. I was eager to check my size. Lucky for me, I have been wearing the right size! That was good news. After getting a new bra in my now confirmed size I was able to gift another woman with a new bra. There was an area set up for me to leave a note to the woman who would receive this brand new bra from Vanity Fair. This woman who would be starting her life over with Dress For Success. I left her a note of encouragement and with a satin ribbon, tied it on to the strap. That put a smile on my face. I love what this campaign is all about. Supporting another woman is always worth the effort. At some point, we all need a little lift! I was honored to be a part of someone’s new beginning.

The #LiftTour is still on the move. If you are in the Los Angeles area you can find the tour making it’s next stop today at 4:30 at Sears n Northridge. The tour will continue to various states through the end of October. Check here for locations.

  1. Having been a mama that has used the Dress for Success program before, I can tell you that your donation means a lot. When you go in, they give you a completely new outfit head to toe. Most of the time, they don’t have bras, because they are expensive and nobody donates them. Often times they also don’t have bigger size clothing so many people leave disappointed or ill-fitted. It’s definitely a program worth getting behind.

  2. I love the concept. I wish it would start earlier in life *high school.* Girls are so hard on each other sometimes. I’m glad we outgrow it and come to support one another. 🙂

  3. I love it! I especially love the note that you are able to leave for the person who will be getting a new bra. It’s all about supporting one another which I wholeheartedly love.

  5. This is an amazing campaign and it looks like you had a great time! It is so true we as women need to support each other!

  6. Love this + everything the campaign stands for!!! I don’t like when women immediately pose women in the same industry as competition, I definitely think there’s enough room for all of us to flourish!

  7. I have never heard of this campaign. It sounds fantastic and something that I would love to take part in. Thanks for sharing!
