Kanye West is known for many things. His most popular attribute seems to be his ego. Then comes his music. Behind that, has to be fashion. He is obsessed with it. He partnered with Gap at one point, designed shoes for LouisVuitton and has been studying with Marc Jacobs for a while now. All this was clearly preparation for his clothing line.
He’s launched a line before; the now defunct Pastelle. Now he’s at it again with his new line called DW by Kanye West. This line debuted at Paris Fashion Week last week. The show boasted a front row of many big name designers and celebs. Everyone was eager to see what Mr. West had come up with. My favorite has to be this dress.
The rest of the stuff doesn’t really work for me. Then again, I look at things from the perspective of where the heck would I wear it. The black dress could at least be a date night dress. A very sexy date night dress! Here are a few of the other looks.
The show got a lot of good reviews though, of course not everyone was in love with it. I say it was a good showing for his true first time out of the gate. Hoping it gets better with time. He was apparently very involved – choosing fabrics, designers and models. From what I’ve read, he really wants to be taken seriously when it comes to fashion. He’s certainly been putting in some work behind the scenes to prove himself. We’ll see. What do you think of Kanye’s clothes?
I would totally rock the life out of his new line. Just saying….

That dress is super cute… PERHAPS not office-appropriate though!?

Cam, I’m going to be totally honest here. No. And the thought of me even trying to wear anything but the scarf dress with my post-nursing tribal boobs {sorry for the visual} and post baby body…uh no. Turtle neck on aisle “me”.
But I’m not much of a fashionista in any sense of the word, so what do I know! Those girls were rockin’ it!

Even though it’s quite hot where I live, despite the constant rain, your fav would be a little too hot for me. 😉

I totally agree on that black dress. Love it! High fashion in general kind of escapes me…but I hope he makes some pieces for everyday wear!

The clothes look nice, but certainly not practical for a mommy whose boobs have dropped and abs have been obliterated by two pregnancies. I have to say, Kanye has seemed crazy to me ever since Hurricane Katrina and his “George Bush hates black people” comment (which was true – well, I don’t know about true, but I’m no fan of the man – but so WEIRD!). I hope he finds something that pleases his soul. He just seem so ANGRY to me…

I didn’t even know he came out with a fashion line.
I’m not the high fashion type, but yeah… the black dress could work for a date night with a camisole underneath! But, that’s just me 🙂

yeah… not a fan. Everything on there is just… odd. (though that first dress is crazy sexy. but also crazy unrealistic.)

I’m not a fan of this line at all but that’s the beauty of fashion, isn’t it?
